Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles director Kevin Munro admits things are getting tight as the clock ticks down to its March 23rd release.
"We're working around the clock to finish the 81-minute action film," he said in an interview. That includes 400 animators who are working 6 days a week to complete the flick. These animators have been working on TMNT (the movie's abbreviated title, to make it seem hip n' happening and to differentiate it from the late 80's live-action flicks).
Producer Thomas K. Gray has another daunting task that needs to be completed: picking music for the movie.
"Right now, we're picking the music," he said in the same interview. "We have some artists from Altantic Records who are submitting songs that they wrote specially for the film. Some of the artists are fans of the Turtles."
One of these artists is Panic! At the Disco who are self-described fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and grew watching the original animated show on TV.
Gray is not sure in which direction he wants to take TMNT's score. However, one thing is certain: there will be no Vanilla Ice performing "Ninja Rap."
Fun Fact: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator (and Heavy Metal Editor in Chief) Kevin Eastman is married to B-movie actress Julie Strain.
